Social Impact
Social impact is the effect on people and communities that happens because of an action or inaction, an activity, project, programme, or policy. The founders of been active within the field of Social Impact for over 20 years.
United by experiences of grief and frustrations with how the system can help, the founders formed Litha to make psychotherapy accessible to all.
In doing so, we had to deal with several issues as we saw the difficulty in developing social impact.
- How to provide access to problem-solving therapy
- Where do people at the edges of society go for help
- Can we help those with varying levels of literacy
- How do we help those that don’t want help
Based on this, we developed Bunty – an AI psychotherapist with mental health screening, a confidential diary, and unlimited therapy conversations.
In 2020, Litha was recognised for its work in making therapy accessible for all.
How do we measure our social impact?
- Who benefits? Our AI Psychotherapist is available to anyone wanted to resolve issues with their anxiety, stress, and depression.
- How many people benefit? In 2017, World Health Organisation (WHO) suggested that over half a billion people worldwide struggled with anxiety, stress, and depression. WHO also stated that over 80% of people with anxiety, stress, or depression chose not to tell anyone. In 2020, almost 5,000 people in the UK alone died by suicide – and a third of them reached out to the health & social care system but went unaided.
- How do they benefit? The therapist baselines and tracks your mental health; gives you a chance to talk and be heard; hold meaningful therapy conversations with you at the centre. At the end of the conversation, you can give and receive feedback. Your assessments, conversations, and feedback all contribute to personal analytics and insights. If, at any point, you wish to pass these notes to a third-party health provider, you’re free to do so.
In short, we are making the rigorous approach of true psychotherapy accessible to all.
